Ingredients for marination:

  1. Boneless chicken breasts 700gm(cut it into 1/2 inch strips or pieces).
  2. Soy sauce 1 and 1/2 teaspoon.
  3. Salt 1 teaspoon.
  4. Pepper 1 teaspoon.
  5. Kashmiri Red chilly powder 1 & 1/2 teaspoon.
  6. Rice flour 2 & 1/2 tablespoon.
  7. All purpose flour (Maida) 2 & 1/2 tablespoon.
  8. Egg white 2.

Ingredients for stir frying:

  1. Oil 3 tablespoons.
  2. Finely chopped garlic 2 & 1/2 tablespoon.
  3. Finely chopped ginger 2 & 1/2 tablespoon.
  4. Red chilly paste 1 tablespoon.
  5. Onion medium 2(cut it into chunks).
  6. Cubed green capsicum 1 & 1/2.
  7. Cashew nuts 1/2 cup.
  8. Soy sauce 1 & 1/2 teaspoon.
  9. Vinegar 1 & 1/2 teaspoon.
  10. Tomato ketchup 1 & 1/2 tablespoon.
  11. 1 teaspoon salt.
  12. 1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper.
  13. Corn flour 1 & 1/2 teaspoon.
  14. Water 1/2 cup.


  1. Add strips of boneless chicken breasts, soy sauce, salt, pepper, Kashmiri red chilly powder, Rice flour, All purpose flour and egg white into a mixing bowl.
  2. Use a pair of tongs or spoons to mix it well.
  3. Ensure there are no lumps of flour.
  4. After mixing it well set it aside for a few minutes.

Frying The Marinated Dragon Chicken Pieces:

  1. Heat oil in a fry pan, kadai or wok.
  2. Heat enough oil for shallow frying the chicken pieces.
  3. Once hot, carefully add the marinated chicken pieces into the oilone ata time.
  4. Allow to fry on medium heat for about 3-4 minutes or until it becomes golden brown.
  5. Heat oil in another pan on high heat.
  6. Once hot, add garlic, ginger and red chilly paste.
  7. Fry on high heat for 2-3 minutes or until it becomes fragrant.
  8. Add onion and bell pepper and sauté them on high heat for about 3 minutes.
  9. Add cashew nuts and fry for 1-2 minutes.
  10. add soy sauce, vinegar, tomato ketchup, salt and black pepper.
  11. Combine corn flour and 1/2 cup of water in a small bowl and add it to the stir fried vegetables.
  12. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the salt becomes thick.
  13. Now add the fried chicken pieces and mix them well for about 2 minutes.
  14. Garnish it with some coriander leaves on top.
  15. Your dragon chicken is now ready to serve dig in!!!


Dragon chicken is often served with steamed rice or fried rice. You can also serve it with noodles or a side of vegetables, Naan or roti for a complete meal.
